    Girls Trip to Savannah

This past weekend I took a Girls Trip to Savannah, GA to celebrate a friends 24th birthday with 5 lovely ladies. I truly had so much fun exploring, celebrating, and enjoying the trip that I ended up not taking many pictures (SO unlike me).  I really wanted to be off my phone and present with the people I was with!  I still wanted to share what we did and give some recommendations!

Friday: Time to hit the road.

Friday morning rolled around and we all piled into an SUV and headed to Savannah from Jacksonville.  The trip there was not too bad, about 2.5 hours in the car with suitcases and all of our essentials. Our trip was only two days, but I am pretty sure we all brought enough outfits for an entire week!  Packing light is not our speciality. We hit the road at 10:30 am and arrived shortly after lunch time. We booked an Airbnb for the weekend, and the check in time was at 3 so we had time to kill and were all feeling HANGRY.  We had no itinerary other than having a good time, so we literally googled places to eat near us. The first one to come up was the Crystal Beer Parlor and it was two blocks from the parking garage, so we started walking there.  We passed a hotel, and there was a woman outside so we just asked her “Where is a great place to eat lunch at?” ironically she said “There is a place right around the corner called the Crystal Beer Parlor, the food is so good!”.  Between her praises and Google’s help, we knew our choice was a good one.  It was about 1:30 on Friday afternoon before we were seated and while we were waiting we took it upon ourselves to chat with some of the locals about the best places to go out.  Some of the suggestions that were shared were:

    • Wet Willies (for the slushies)
    • The Bar Bar
    • Saddlebags
    • Alley Cat Lounge
    • City Market
    • Tree House Bar

We sat down at our table and discussed what the evening plans would consist of and where we would go. Everyone at our table ordered something completely different off of the menu from Burgers, to Salad, to wraps and Root Beer Floats.  We enjoyed our food at the Crystal Beer Parlor and I would highly recommend it.  I am not a Beer Drinker, but here is a list of their Beers if you are interested!  The environment was family friendly, everyone was enjoying their time, and we had great service.

We had about 40 min until check in time, so we decided to go to the grocery store and get some California Pizza Kitchen Pizza, breakfast foods and waters.  It was so strange because in Jacksonville we all usually go to Publix (the bomb dot com) and we went to a Kroger.  I have personally never been to a Kroger, and the only negative thing I have to say was it seemed like everything was on sale, but in order to get that sale price, you had to have a Kroger card.  So Ciera (one of the gals) took one for the team and got a Kroger card, and then we literally used it on all of our transactions LOL.

It was finally time to check in to the Airbnb and we did not want to pay for the Meter Parking in front on the street, so we rotated girls to stay in the car while we lugged suitcases, food and air mattresses into the place.  It probably looked like we were moving into the home for weeks, when in realty we were there a total of two days! Two of us went to park the car 3 blocks away while the other four waited for them to get back.  We did not take too much time unpacking before we headed out to shop a little.

Right next to our Airbnb were multiple shops and one of them had Popsicles… that were $4! So, yes, we spent $4 on popsicles and then walked right out into heat that felt like 100 degrees and had to fight a battle between the sun and the popsicle.  They began melting faster than we could eat them.

We walked about .5 miles and then decided to head back and start making the Pizza’s and resting before a fun night out. We listened to music, did our hair/makeup, took pictures with the birthday girl (Peyton) and then took an Uber to Congress Street and decided to just see what looked like a fun place to go.  Our first stop was Tree House, which was a cool place to be and we really liked the music.  It was located upstairs and had an outside deck, as well as a DJ that played throwback tunes like NSYNC and Britney Spears. Overall a great place to go if you want to experience a dancing and fun environment.  From there, we went to the well known Wet Willies where they have alcoholic slushies and a non alcoholic version for kids!  We were told the strongest flavor they have there is called “Call a Cab”.  They have so many flavors on their site listed here (accurate colors of Slushies):

    • Attitude Improvement
    • CALL A CAB®
    • Strawberry
    • Piña Colada
    • Sex on the Beach
    • Monkey Shine
    • White Russian
    • Margarita
    • Shock Treatment®
    • Naked Willie®
    • Chocolate Thunder
    • Sour Apple
    • Monster Melon
    • Weak Willie®
    • Mango
    • Sugar-Free CALL A CAB®
    • Peach

You can also Mix any flavors you want!

From there, we headed back to the Airbnb to wrap up a great first night in Savannah!

Saturday: Fun, Fun and more FUN!

We woke up surprisingly early and decided to go for a morning walk.  We ended up walking about a mile to the cutest little breakfast spot called Goose Feathers Cafe and they honestly had the most delicious Menu options. I ordered the same thing as the birthday girl, a Bagel with Turkey Sausage and Egg (SO Good) with a small iced coffee.  After eating the most important meal of the day, we headed right around the corner to the shops.  There were the usual shops that we have here in Jacksonville like the Gap, Victoria Secret, Mac, Anthropology and so on.  We bought a few things and then headed back (Shopping bags in hand) to the Airbnb to get ready for the highlight of our day- The Savannah Slow Ride.

For the 21 and Fun Age Group:

The Savannah Slow Ride was something that we booked in advance to do from 1:45-2:45 and I would do it again in a heart beat. It is a 100% pedal powered ride, where you and fifteen other people are on a bike pedaling around town.  Basically, the faster you pedal, the more stops you get to make.  They bring you to bars and pubs all over the town and you can order drinks at whatever stops you would like.  Just for booking the Slow Ride, there is a special menu at each stop where you get selected drinks for a discount. We made a playlist for the ride, and plugged up the phone as soon as we sat down!  It was such a blast and the best part is, you do not only get those specials for the time that you are on the bike, you get them the entire weekend!

Obviously drinking in the middle of the day can take a lot out of you, so we stopped for Pizza at a cash only pizza spot called Vinnie Van Go Go’s which I had been to one other time with my mother and sister.  The pizza is so amazing and we ordered a large (12 slices) which was perfect for all 6 of us!

From there, we took naps and then repeated the same itinerary as the night before. We headed out to Congress Street and took on the town!  It was filled with cute outfits, laughter, the best memories. a special birthday, great girls and slightly embarrassing dancing.

    Until Next Time Savannah!

    Florals: The Staple for Summer

Whether you are working all summer, attending college classes, tripping with your Bff’s or everything in between it is important to keep your summer wardrobe Instagram worthy.  I am going to share some budget friendly styles for Summer, including my favorite florals of course.  I found an incredibly cute red floral dress this past weekend, and it is perfect for any occasion.

I love finding dresses like this one because of the versatility.  I can pair it with sandals for a casual day, wedges for an event or barefoot on the sand at a resort.  You really can’t go wrong with florals and a bright color!

Floral meets Denim ft. Maisa’s House of Fashion

Hi there, and Happy Tuesday!  I am going on a Savannah (GA) girls trip for my friends Birthday and wanted to share one of the cutest dresses that I will be bringing in my bag!  The dress is from Maisa’s House of Fashion and is the perfect combination of Floral and Denim.  It is not actually denim, but very similar in color while being SO soft.  I love it because I can dress it up with heels, or keep it simple for strolling around Savannah in sandals.

I love the look of denim dresses, but with this summer heat (especially in FL) you can’t go wrong with this dress. It is breathable, and super comfy!  I may even wear it on the Savannah Slow Ride (I have never been on one of these, but the Birthday Girl insisted on it) I am so excited to enjoy a nice, long 3 day weekend with my girls.

Maisa’s House of Fashion has some very cute summer pieces, and the quality is great.  I have teamed up with them to give you guys a great discount while shopping anything on the site!

    Bride Vibes

Happy Monday!  It is finally June, and I have just about 8 months until my big day.  There are so many fun things that go into wedding planning so I thought I would make a fun post sharing some things that only Bride’s understand.  Whether you are already married, or on your journey to saying “I Do”, you can relate to the following:

    1. You can insist that your girls come on a shopping trip with you (for the dress) but only so they can sit there and watch YOU try on clothes, LOL.
    2. Your dream wedding will remain a dream if you do not put Pinterest down and be reasonable.  Pinterest is great for grabbing ideas in the beginning of the process, but stay off Pinterest once you start making final decisions.
    3. You should not DIY everything, major headache.
    4. You will not be able to walk the entire day in 5 inch heels, so choose comfort.
    5. Everyone will have an opinion or advice on your wedding, and not all of them will be kind or helpful. It is your day, so make sure you do it your way. (Within reason)
    6. Your heart will feel like it is about to burst.
    7. The font on the Save the Dates..needs to match the invitations, and the wedding signage, and the seating chart, and…. do not sweat the SMALL things.
    8. To do a first look or not?
    9. Hair up, no hair down, how about a half up half down?
    10. I will not go over budget (REPEAT 20 times throughout planning)
    11. Flowers are how much?
    12. Constantly saying “my wedding” instead of our wedding to your Fiance. (oops, personal truth! Joseph always corrects me, it is OUR day after all).
    13. Your “Day Of Planner” is like an angel on earth, sent to save your wedding day from any and all imperfections. (More details on my amazing Wedding Planner later on the blog)

I have been really loving the wedding planning process, mostly because my mom is so involved and helps plan every detail.  She is constantly making appointments for me to meet vendors, working with the planner, and just being awesome.  I could not do it alone, and it is so nice having someone who is listening to what you want for your big day.

Another fun part of wedding planning and being a bride, is being able to wear things that say your future last name or Bride!  I have been loving this super soft tee from the cutest Etsy Shop!

    e89f15d8-fcad-46e7-9b24-1e5842faf37f3413adda-fbab-45a2-bd33-ee1fc9704938d65ecd72-a448-4873-af00-72b19f2fc919f751927a-792f-4acd-84b1-a8afb10da9a2c2929825-52c0-46f3-98dc-d4e08e5d7d61

They have Robes, Tees, Tanks, Denim Jackets, Accessories and so much more.  All you Brides-to-be need to check them out; they can customize the items as well!  If you are shopping for a bride to be, the shirts are the perfect gift! I have been wearing the Bride Vibes Tee non stop.  Check out SS Design and CO

    Have a wonderful week!

Top 5 things to do in Jacksonville Fl on a rainy day!

    Happy Monday!

With the weather being so rainy lately, I thought it would be fun to share 5 things that I love to do in Jacksonville Fl on a rainy day. Who says you can’t make the most out of your weekend, even if the forecast is 100% rain?

    The Edge Rock Gym

The Edge Rock Gym is so much fun and usually you can keep your eye out for a Groupon or sale on their site! Basically it is the most “fun” time you will have working out. It is an indoor rock climbing facility, and the more friends your bring the more fun you have! You can get competitive and race side by side, as well as enjoy different levels of climb from easy to expert.

I love to go here for two or three hours with my fiancé and we literally feel SO sore the next day! It is just as much of a burn as leg day!

    Movie Theater Date

Going to the movies is always a good time. Take time to unwind and see a good comedy, a scary movie or in my case some super hero movie with my fiancé! He is such a fan of all things super hero and Star Wars! The best way to treat yourself on a rainy day is to see a movie in a theater with the reclining seats! Just be sure you don’t fall asleep.

    Autobahn Indoor Speedway

If you are feeling a little adventurous, Autobahn Indoor Speedway is the place for you! It is a high speed Indoor go-karting facility that is super fun, but not cheap! Be prepared to spend a little money, while having the most epic go-karting experience Jacksonville has to offer. I personally love to go here because I am so competitive in nature. Fun for the whole family for sure.

Grab breakfast at a local spot

The most delicious breakfast I’ve had, that is unique in location/ decor is at the Cool Moose Cafe and The Fox ! These two spots will leave you stuffed and needing a nap! They have such a large menu, and the coffee is delicious! I recommend getting there a tad bit earlier than you plan on eating, needless to say they are very popular.

    Top Golf

Despite what you may think, Top Golf offers a whole lot of fun on a rainy day. For those of you who have been to one, you know that the actual building is covered. This allows you to enjoy food, drinks, and a few rounds of the golfing game with those you love most. What is more exciting than a challenge like adding rain to the equation? Top golf is fun, challenging and a great place to spend time with friends and family!

So next time there is a rainy day in Jacksonville, now you know the top 5 places you should go! I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Must Have Resort Wear ft. Escapada Living

Happy Sunday to Everyone, I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s day!  It has been such a busy weekend, and since we are now into May, it is time to start finding that perfect Summer and Resort Wear.  Two things that I love to focus on when looking for a great outfit to wear on vacation is how colorful and how fun the piece is.  I have two adorable outfits to show you from Escapada Living:

The first is a dress, called The Bonnie Dress, is a perfect Off The Shoulder beauty to pack for that quick Island Getaway.  I love the color and print so much, and it can easily be dressed up with a pair of heels or down with a pair of sandals.  I will be taking this beauty from sunset strolls on the sand to dinner with my Fiance.

The Second look is the gorgeous show stopping (literally) Naomi Romper.  A romper is always a good idea, and this one has pockets!  I mean nothing is better than being able to stick your favorite lipstick in your pocket and head out for a fun night on vacation.  I love this romper because it is so feminine, functional and FUN.  Personally I pair this piece with cute heels and head out for a night of dancing, boating and just true resort living.

If you are looking for the best vacation outfits check out their website Escapada Living Website

    Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

    Polka Dot Dress

Happy Monday!  The weekends are really starting to fly by for me with wedding planning, only 9 more months til “I Do” and I could not be more excited.  I have been obsessed with the polka dot trends lately and have been wearing this adorable red dress from Forever 21 on repeat.  It is so fun, and it will be perfect for a date night with my Fiance.  I love the polka dot detailing because you can dress it up or down by simply changing your shoes.  I was wearing this dress with sandals during the day while shopping, grabbing breakfast and running errands.  Then slipped on my heels to add a more dressed up look, for a date night and going out with friends.

Another reason I love this dress is because you feel like twirling around in it, and its so fun!  I linked some of my favorite Polka Dotted finds from Forever 21 below!

The Best Shopping Advice I have ever received

    Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I wanted to share my hands down #1 best shopping advice that I have ever received. There is always that one thing that catches your eye while you’re shopping in a store. Whether it’s an article of clothing, a piece of home decor, or just something that you think you have to have. The best shopping advice that I have ever received is that if you do not love it in the store you will never wear it or use it. In the past I have often tried to buy things because they were on sale, a good deal or simply didn’t want to miss out. Those things either sat in my closet or were never used and I wish I had taken my own advice.

I usually apply this to clothing, especially when I am feeling too lazy to try something on. It is so easy to just give it a shot, only to get home and find out you grabbed the wrong size, it’s too short, or just not your style. If you are 50/50 about it to begin with, you most likely won’t like it. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for trying new trends, patterns and styles. However, you need to LOVE IT. When you look at the dress in the mirror and think “hmmm.. maybe it will work” you will probably bring it home and never wear it out.

Using the rule that if you don’t love it in the store you won’t love it later is a time saver, money saver and headache saver.

Ps. Thanks Nana for this shopping tip! She taught me everything I know about shopping til ya drop ❤️😘
